Did you enjoy last Sunday’s Rick and Morty episode “Morty’s Mind Blowers”?
Yeah, we too!
Now the writers behind Rick and Morty have shared a list of the fans of all the freaky, weird and unused ideas they came up with for this most recent episode.
Rick and Morty is a science-fiction sitcom that was first aired in 2013 and only returned for a third season earlier this year.
This week’s episode: Morty’s Mind Blowers (Sept 17th) reveals that Rick has a secret room filled with Morty’s memories he has chosen to forget.
Now, the writers of the show have revealed that they came u with more than a hundred mind blowers, and that they narrowed these down with a vote. And then they wrote some more.
We pitched about a hundred mind blowers, then had to narrow it down and vote, then we still wrote more. https://t.co/6gZBSOSuMx

Dan Gunterman, one of the writers said that he was able to “get some things through” but that most of his ideas were “too weird” to be aired on TV. Dan listed some of his original ideas, along with some of those that had been imagined by his co-writers, James Siciliano and Mike McMahan.
Some of them include a memory of Morty being an old man and helping his granddaughter with her homework, of Rick falling in love with a firetruck, and a Fake Premium Cable style sequence Rick has produced for the start of later mindblowers.

Gunterman added that there might be another Blowers episode in due time. He loves working on Rick and Morty since you can just open your mouth and say anything you want, it all gets considered seriously and thoughtfully.
